When the sun shines, you know it's going to be a good day.

If you're on the East Coast, you're probably hanging out in a bunch of snow. As I'm writing this, I look out my window and see the white dustings of snowflakes sitting atop the tree branches, my friendly feline eyeing the tree whenever snow falls off the branches. I'm just jealous of the fact that while I'm working, he gets to gaze out the window with his cattish curiosity. The only worries on his mind? "When is lunch? Dinner? Dessert? What a life he lives…

Clingy cats are elite in the world of cat-lovers. But we all want what we can't have, and this clingy-cat mom wants some alone time. 

Some people crave chocolate, others cake, but us? When we're craving something sweet, we turn to cats to curb our cuteness craving.

It's rare to meet someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth. There are some weirdos who prefer savory things, but for us normal people, we get cravings for anything with sugar in it. And no, fruit doesn't count. Chocolate, cookies, cake pops, pie, ice cream, you name it, we could always nom nom nom on it. It's biological - our bodies crave sugar because sugar = carbohydrates, carbohydrates = energy, and energy = staying alive. The only thing is that when we evolved to have this craving, we didn't have access to unlimited amounts of pastries and sweet delicacies at our fingertips.

But, like hoomans do, we seem to have evolved again. Knowing that if we gave in to our sugary desires every time we had a craving, we would be at least 300 lbs., we have found a trick that helps us curb our cravings with something else that's pawsitively sweet and curiously cute: cats! It's not the same as savoring a delicious bite of chocolate cake, but it gets the job done thanks to our love of all things feline.

These kitty cuties are a sugar rush of feline furbulousness, from floofy kitties to awwdorable cat memes that are like a soul-nourishing bite of wholesomeness. And, of course, it wouldn't be complete without a little bit of cat comedy, so prepurr for some giggles as well as plenty of awww's.

Cats recognize kindness, and once they do, they do not let it slip out of their paws. 

We have always known that cats are smart. Just from our personal experience with them. We know that they recognize when we feel down, which shows their emotional intelligence. We know that they know exactly when they are supposed to be fed and when their favorite snacks are opened, which shows general intelligence. But we only knew that about our cats. We've always thought that stray cats had to be different in this sense, but over time, we have learned that stray cats… might even be smarter than house cats.

Stray cats have street smarts. They need it to be able to survive out there in the dangerous world all alone. Our cats are spoiled. They only need to know us and our habits to be able to meownipulate us with their cuteness. Stray cats though, they have developed a sense of recognizing kindness. It why, more often than not, it is enough to feed a stray cat once for that cat to suddenly start coming back regularly. They haven't developed any kind of bond to you - not yet, they are just checking you out and seeing if you are going to feed them again. And if you do…

Living outside is hard, and if you take one look at your house cat, then you know that cats love being spoiled. Why fight for every meal and shelter when you can be at home, served every time you meow? Life is so much easier that way. Especially when you have a bunch of itty bitty kitties to take care of. Cats know this. And once they find that person who shows them kindness - even just once - they make the best out of it. 

That is purrcisely what happened in this story. A man fed a stray cat, that cat instantly recognized the goldmine in front of it, and what did the cat do? The cat brought his girlfriend. And then, the two of them together brought their hoard of kittens with them. And the man? Well, the man was chosen, and that means that he was left with no choice but to make room for all of the cats. 

it is one of the cutest things in the world for us to see people just accept their fates like this man did. The initial shock was there, but the love for cats was much stronger. And now, his garage became a cat sanctuary for more than 20 kitties. 

Cats are weird little creatures, and yet here are - adoring their every whiskery weirdo deed.

As we should. Cats are to be worshiped, as the kings and queens they are, who rule our lives with an iron paw. Even medieval emperors adored their cats, so who are we to dispute that? But that doesn't change the fact that cats, these beings we admire so, are fluffing weirdos. They will literally scream on blank walls, try to parkour on your ceiling at odd hours of the night, and insist on napping on your laptop right when you have an important meeting (and let's see you dare to move them).

But let's see if your cat, who's definitely weird in their own way, beats the complete coo-cooness of this one. He dips his cat toys in the toilet water. But wait, there's more! This is, most definitely, done in good faith. No, it's not that the cat thinks the toys are dirty - he gives them as moist gifts to his stunned human, delivering them right on her bed. Thoughtful. And you think she just accepts it? This human tried everything to stop this strange gift-giving from happening to no avail.

You have to see it to believe it. But what we always know, with seeing or not, is that cats are weird. So, so, so weird. But honestly? We wouldn't have them any other way.

A cat was not on the grocery list.

A regular trip to the grocery store turned into an unexpected kitten rescue when this little guy was spotted sleeping on the side of the road. He was dirty, hungry, and clearly had been out there for a while, but still sweet enough to let a stranger walk right up and pet him. After finishing the shopping run and sending a heads up to the family group chat, the mission became getting him home.

He was still there on the way back, although not without a bit of chaos. At one point there was crawling under a parked car involved after he got spooked and ran to hide. Eventually he was scooped up and brought inside, where he quickly settled in after some food and a wipe-down. A proper wash later on made a big difference, and he's already looking like a completely different cat. He's been spending most of his time loafing around or cuddling up with whoever's nearby.

It does look like his tail was cut at some point, which is upsetting to see, but thankfully he's safe now. He's met the other kittens and seems content to either hang out solo or find a human to nap next to. A home has already been lined up for him with someone who was planning to adopt another kitten, but this little guy's calmer personality makes him a better fit.

The Cat Distribution System works in mysterious ways, and sometimes like in this story it takes going against the word of others to claim the cat that is destined to be yours.

At least that is what happened to one construction worker who found himself conflicted when a cat in the neighborhood of his worksite started showing him affection. Before long he noticed that this cat was showing all the behaviors of a stray, other than the fact that it kept frequenting one particular porch. And when the man finally saw a teenager go up to said porch he enquired as to whether the cat was indeed a feral feline or if he was their pet, to which the teenager claimed the cat was hers.

However, it is hard to claim ownership of a cat when they are left to live outside, fend for their own meals and patch up their own injuries. And so this man plucked up his courage and took the cat home to help it heal and serve it up a comforting meal. Resulting in one of the sweetest CDS rescues we have seen in a while.

Mondays are hard days. For everyone. And everyone knows that. It is beyond important to start Monday properly - with the right mood, the right attitude. With a smile. And although there is not a whole lot that could make us smile at the beginning of the week, especially considering how difficult it is to get out of bed when it is still so cold outside, one thing always works. Without fail. And that is, of course, starting the day with a whole bunch if pawsome cat memes.

Your new manager works from home and sits on your keyboard.

Monday morning and your cat has been promoted to manager without consulting you. You sit down to start the week and they're already at the desk, planted on your keyboard like they have a full calendar of meetings. The laptop opens, they sit on it. The notebook comes out, they sit on that too. Oversight has begun.

Every email now has to go through them first. You try to type and they step on the keys like they're adding notes. You reach for the mouse and they rest a paw on your hand to let you know that was not approved. The staring is constant. Purrformance reviews will be based entirely on how much attention you're giving them.

You attempt to move them. They return immediately and sit down harder. You adjust your position. They adjust with you. Now they're loafed across your workspace, purring like they just wrapped up a long call. The tail is in the way, the trackpad is covered, and you are working at a speed that suggests morale is low.

At some point they curl up directly on your notes and fall asleep mid-shift. You weren't planning on taking a break, but management has made an executive decision. Monday purrductivity now depends on whether or not the boss wakes up.

Everyone knows that cats are criminals, but it's still funny to see them caught in real time. 

You only need to have a cat live in your home for a little while to know that cats commit crimes. All the time. Seriously. Adopting a cat spikes the crime rate in your house to levels that you never expected to see. Of course, it is worth it, but that doesn't make it any less funny. It could be small things, like cats stealing food off your plate if you look away for just one meowoment, or cats stealing dogs' beds without any shame. Or it could be cats breaking into apartments without any fear or cats stealing from supermarkets, with their main targets being the delicious snacks inside. 

We think that this is what the cat in this story was most likely attempting to do. It must have thought that the bank was a grocery store or something, one with truly worthy snacks inside. That is why the kitty broke in. Of course, the cat wasn't expecting the door to close behind it, or the alarm to start blaring, or the panicked police officers to come running, trying to find the robber inside. What an adventure.
